Part-2 of An open letter to CEO- Airtel
Posted on 4th June, 2022
Dear Gopal,
This is further to the first part.
My son ( Airtel phone number 9092******) purchased an International Roaming Pack from Airtel on 5/5/2022 for Rs 3997 for his US visit from 7/5/2022 to 23/5/2022.
On reaching US on 8th May, he tried to activate the pack. While the pack was partially activated ; he was not able to call as outgoing facility did not work.
He could not even call taxi, as they don't work on WhatsApp. He could not call his parents. He could not call his colleagues in India and US for Official work. He finally had to arrange for another costly SIM there to remain connected. For which he was required to pay several thousands additionally. This was in addition to Rs. 3997 paid to Airtel.
As outgoing was not working; he immediately informed the Airtel Karnataka Officials through emails about the problem with the Subject on the email written as EMERGENCY: Unable to make calls.
A hilarious reply came asking him to call them through his registered mobile phone!! I really appreciate their sense of humour so what if it is at the expense of a hapless customer stranded in US without having Outgoing facility on his phone despite having paid Rs 3997 for the same. Kindly cross check with the records obtained from your Nodal Officers.
(I shall post all the documents in the last post.)
My son wrote a few more emails asking them to help him. They gave him lengthy instructions to do this or that. He followed all the instructions religiously but the 'pack' did not budge. He could not make any outgoing call and the tour got over soon. He wrote a few more emails to Airtel Karnataka. Details will be given in the next Part.
My son requested me to approach nearby Airtel Centre at Indore for the remedy hoping for miracle. I visited Airtel Centre five times at Indraprasth Tower, Indore from 8th to 10th May. Firstly, they were quite reluctant to help as the matter was pertaining to Karnataka. Secondly, an ordinarily dressed old man with white hair was considered an intruder, specially in the evening visits when they were busy in gossipping. I will write about all these visits in detail in the coming posts.
Gopal, forget refund or these Open Letters by an aggrieved retired old man. What can he do to you or your mighty Company? The matter will die down soon! You please remain placed in the Ivory Tower and please continue to discuss in your meetings about deep and fair relationship with stakeholders, trust, transparency, integrity, ethical business practices and standards. All these words sound so good in the meetings.
Today you just enjoy the joke cracked so hilariously by your creative employee based in Bangalore. The world is going to love it, whenever they happen to read it! There are so many more hilarious jokes you are going to read in the subsequent posts. Keep reading the Blog and the Open Letters. Please feel free to comment in the Comment Section of this blog.
